Biography
Helena Mortenius, PhD, is Head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Region Halland, Sweden. With a doctoral degree in Medicine from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden (2012), her dissertation addressed the implementation of research and development in primary care through strategic communication. Her research focuses on implementation science, evidence-based practice, and the translation of knowledge into clinical healthcare settings. She has published widely in international peer-reviewed journals within nursing, public health, and health policy, and has extensive experience in doctoral supervision and higher education teaching, including the design of research methodology courses and specialist training for physicians. Dr. Mortenius has contributed to national and international academic service, including serving as Chair of the Swedish national primary care research network and participating in global research networks such as EACH and the Knowledge Utilization Colloquium. Her current research centers on longitudinal, population-based studies of prevention and early interventions in child and adolescent mental health. This work seeks to reduce the gap between scientific evidence and clinical practice and to establish sustainable models for first-line psychiatric services, with relevance beyond the Swedish context
